2023 Fall: Editha’s Letter

November 8, 2023

Dear Fellow UDW members,
Happy Provider Appreciation Month! Every year we take time during the month of November to celebrate and uplift the incredible work UDW members do year-round. This year is no different, and as a matter of fact, we’ve got even more to celebrate! Together we have secured historic victories for both home care and child care providers across the state—all while providing vital, quality care to our clients and loved ones.
I’m also excited to let you know about the first-ever UDW leadership summit that was held last month in October and attended by over 120 UDW member leaders in home care and child care from across the state, as far north as Siskiyou County and all the way down to San Diego and Imperial counties. We spent the weekend getting to know each other, building solidarity, and making plans to grow each of our districts, including our newest district, District 8, which spans 39 counties and includes all the child care providers of our union.
If you are interested in getting involved in your union, call your local office to learn about upcoming opportunities!

In solidarity,
Editha Adams
UDW Statewide President
