District 3 Recording Secretary

Kathleen Crick
District 3 Recording Secretary

I’ve been an IHSS provider for my neighbor Katherine who lives with Lupus for seven years. I was a bookkeeper for 20 years before I became a provider. For me, like most providers, caregiving is more than just a job. I work as hard as I do, because I care about Katherine’s wellbeing; I care about her. We have a strong bond. She’s no longer just my patient, she’s my friend. In-home care has kept Katherine out of the hospital for several years.

UDW is important for home care providers because we can’t just sit back and wait. We have to fight! And we have. Together we’ve worked to stop cuts, secure wage increases, and receive overtime pay – we are seeing the fruits of our hard work.
