With the Valley Fire in San Diego County now approaching 18,000 acres, UDW has been working to gather resources for our members and community members affected. As more becomes clear and more resources are made available, UDW will be reaching out to members to help in any way we can.

  • Steele Canyon High School at 12440 Campo Road, Spring Valley
  • El Capitan High School at 10410 Ashwood Street, Lakeside (also accepting pets)
  • Joan MacQueen Middle School closed as of Tuesday, Sept. 8 due to limited capacity and potential sheltering needs

Animal Evacuation locations:

  • Small Animals: County Animal Services South Shelter at 5821 Sweetwater Road, Bonita.
  • Large Animals: Iron Oak Canyon Ranch at 12310 Camp Rd., Spring Valley.
  • Horses:  Lakeside Rodeo Arena, 12584 Mapleview St., Lakeside.
